How to Find The Lady Florence at Orford Quay

The Lady Florence departs from Orford Quay, Quay Street, Orford, Suffolk. This historic quay sits on the edge of the River Ore, forming the starting point for your river cruise experience along one of the most scenic stretches of the Suffolk coast.

Lady Florence Location

Located in the heart of Orford, Orford Quay offers a peaceful setting surrounded by open estuary views and coastal landscapes. Just a short walk from the quay, you will find Orford Castle, a well-preserved landmark that has played an important role in the area’s history.

The surrounding landscape also leads towards Orford Ness, now a protected nature reserve, known for its unique coastal environment and its links to Cold War military activity.

Parking at Orford Quay

There is a large pay-and-display car park on the left just before reaching the Quay, providing convenient access for all visitors joining the Lady Florence.

Please note that during busier periods, especially in the summer months, the car park can fill quickly, so we recommend allowing extra time for arrival.

Directions from A12 (From the North)

After the Saxmundham turn, leave the A12, turning left onto the A1094 signed Aldeburgh.

At Snape Church, turn right onto the B1069 signed Snape Maltings. Immediately after Snape Maltings, fork left on an un-numbered road signed Orford.

Continue straight ahead into the village, and you will arrive at Orford Quay, where the car park is located just before the quay.

Directions from A12 (Woodbridge)

Leave the A12 at the roundabout at the end of the Woodbridge bypass (after the Shell garages), taking the second exit onto the A1152.

Continue straight over the traffic lights and rail level crossing at Melton. At the mini-roundabout, take the first exit, staying on the A1152.

When the A1152 branches left for Snape, continue straight ahead on the B1084 through Rendlesham Forest, Butley and Chillesford.

At the Give Way sign at the five-way intersection, turn right for Orford. Once in the village, continue straight ahead and you will arrive at Orford Quay.
